My Sony Erricsson Got Damaged - What Do I Do Now?

Last night I was coming back from a party and my Sony Ericsson K850i fell down heavily on the ground and broke into pieces - well literally.

I could put together the pieces - but it won’t start again. I was completely shattered as I never felt of taking back-ups of my data that contained all those important business as well as personal contact numbers, e-mail IDs, photos and videos.

And most importantly I could not get to my work - webmastering. I must mention here that I live in one of the remotest part of the world where modern life (cyber world) is non-existant. There are just few in my locality who knows how to send and receive e-mails and the only way to access internet is either through ancient mode of dial-up connection or tortoise like GPRS. So there is no way for me to contact a service centre of Sony Ericcson to get my handset fixed.

Fortunately, there is one local technician who, though never got formal maintenance training - could bring my mobile back to life.

Now after that, the most important thing I had to do was to look for back-up of my database. I then remember I had a CD that came along a tech magazine known as CHIP which I subscribe to. That CD contained a free utility program called “MyPhoneBackup” that makes it easy to download and efficiently store all files on Sony Ericsson mobile phones through easy snychronization. As soon as I got back from the technician’s chamber, I installed the program, and followed the guidelines and stored my data base.

Now, your phone might also get damaged, might get virus infected or it might even get stolen. So if you own a Sony handset don’t be late - download the “MyPhoneBackup” for free from here and be assured.

If you own other handset models, you might look for good and free softwares from here .

The mobile handset branch of South Korean electronics conglomerate LG has recently released another new model from its stable called KU990 or “Viewty” (View the next technology). This handset is said to be successor of its previous K series model model KE850 Prada.

So what makes the new model better than the earlier one?

The biggest plus is its massive 5 MP (five mega pixel camera) that can capture quality video directly in compressed DivX format. Besides, the device using Schneider-Kreuznach certified lens can also switch effortlessly to ISO modes from 100 to 800. It can also take photos in panaroma burst mode (9 shots in 4 seconds) but the quality is not so good. The TV out feature lets owners to view camera files directly on TV.

Apart from all regular features like short cut buttons for instant access to different functions, it has a large 3-inch 256K color TFT screen. The phone pack contains 1GB microSD card, drivwe CD and USB cable.

The body is stylish but lacks protective covers for the camera as well as main screen. The music system is quite good but the camera does not work as it should if used in sun-light with mismatched color coming out of it.

Price at over $500 is also quite high compared to other five mega pixel camera phone.
